Hi,
I have Pioneer VSX-607RDS receiver and I have serious problem. It has 5.1 channel input but it can't play real 5.1 surround sound. When I set it on to DVD 5.1 mode the left, right, center and sub speakers are OK, but left and right surround speakers doesn't sound properly. The two channels are mixed by receiver and mono channel is outputted to one of the surround speakers ( left or right i can't remember). Can anybody tell me what is wrong?????

I'm not sure I understand your problem. You say you get constant volume from one of the surround speakers?

yes,
some thing like that

I can't N-joy a 5.1 DVD, because the surround channels are corupted by receiver in that way:

receiver receive lest-surr and right-surr chanels from DVD and they are OK ( when I connect them to front L-R they are playing well), but when they are connected to lest-surr and right-surr input on receiver, receiver mixed them some how and the outputted signal sound only from one of the surrond speakers.
The receiver says it is 5.1 channel READY but actualy it isn't.That's all
if you can supply me some manual for the model ( Pioneer VSX-607RDS / 1999year) I'll be thankful.

PS.I think that may be there is any configuration for 5.1 mode on receiver, because there are 3 or 4 different modes for Surround( DolbiSurrPrologic / DVD5.1 and some more) but i tried all of them and doesn't work

On the Pioneer AV receivers, to use the 5.1 selection, you have to have it wired with the individual 5.1 configuration. On the back of your receiver there are 6 RCA ins for this set up. If you DVD player supports this with the proper outs, your in business. If your are using (what most people will do) coax or fiber optic set up, you don't use the digital 5.1 selection. You have two other selections. One gives control to your source and will give 5.1 Dolby Digital II or DTS (or any other format your receiver supports). The other selection is for the various equalized formats, i.e. "Adv-Movie", "Adv-Music", etc. I hope this helps.

the real problem is in Pioneer. it is somehow precoding both surround channels and gives me this sh*ted kind of output. All I need is to switch it off or will be better not to use da receiver :-(
