Hey guys,

Just finished setting up this receiver. I'm having problems picking up a Dolby Digital Signal. The receiver shows that it is receiving a digital signal, but it's showing up as Stereo. If I put in a DTS dvd and select DTS in the dvd menu, the receiver will pick it up as DTS with no prob (sounds great too). But it won't do this with my Dolby Digital Dvd's. Im currently using a Digital Coaxial connection, and also tried with an optical cable, but still no go. The dvd player is set to Digital out, PCB. Theres another option called raw, could that be it? Or maybe the problem is at the receiver?

Please help,

Thanks in advance..

Is that a typo and it should be PCM? If so, that is your problem. When set to PCM, the dvd player will downmix multi-channel DD to 2 channel PCM.

Raw is likely the right setting, although most dvd players say 'Bitstream'; ie pass the bitstream unaltered so the receiver can do the decoding.
