Problem with biamping the Denon 3805

Following audioholic's biamping guide for the Denon 3805 exactly, I still end up with no sounds comming out of my sub on my fronts (NHT ST4's). Is there a step that the guide missed or that assume everyone just knows?

I've tested almost every single option in the system setup, and know for a fact that I connected the wires right since if I use Power Amp Connection to SurroundBacks in the options sounds come out of the sub on my ST4's. So far I concluded that the problem lies within the VDP option in selecting the source for Zone3. They say that VDP is the pre-amp for the front stereo sounds, but no where in the manual or any of the setup options hints that. Is there a certain option I need to choose for VDP in order to make it work?
