 This one has me stumped. I can usually figure this kind of stuff out but not this one. I have about 1500 mp3s saved to the "My Music" folder, the one that WMP uses. this is the stumper.... it only recognizes 500 of them. It doesn't matter if the files are WMA or MP3. I've tried using ITunes and other media players with the same results. Any suggestions:confused:

That doesn't make sense. I currently have well over 5,000 MP3s and WMP can find them all and add them to the playlist, although I tend to use WinAmp for playback.

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is the format of your drive. If it is formatted in FAT32 there is a limit to the number of directories you can have and that could be an issue with WMP finding all the files if for example you had the songs stored under individual directories (one per Artist). I use NTFS and have no problems at all.

You might want to try deleting your current playlist and re-adding them all - maybe it's just a bug in the code that creates the playlist or media database.

Simpler yet... Go into your options in WMP and make sure that mp3's and whatever other file formats you wish to use with WMP are supported. In other words, make sure that WMP is managing all of your mp3's (check all that apply).

This happens a lot when you install new media software, as it essentially takes over playback of a lot of your media files.

Not saying this is your problem, but worth checking into.
