After reading the
IQ Audio M300 Mono-Block Amplifier review, it got me ruminating about the quiet trend towards the use of pro-audio equipment in consumer HT systems.
I mention the M300 because, like many pro audio amps these days, it uses Class D topology, and in his review, Gene says this:
The IQ Audio M300 amplifier is the first Class D amplifier that I’d seriously consider for my own use.
Spec sheets from manufacturers like Crown and Behringer are wanting, at least for someone like me who wants to compare apples to apples.
My question is: Do the pro-audio amps used by the HT crowd measure up to the rigorous and comprehensive testing protocol as used by Gene?
