I am looking to do a cheap high power system. Can I run a QSC GX5
with a preamp tuner?

Probably, but you might need an adaptor cable to go from the tuner/pre, which usually have RCA outputs to fit the amp's 1/4" TRS inputs.

Unless, of course, what the amp shows as "phono" inputs are really line level inputs. Then these would work fine.

Yes, the "parallel phono" inputs are line level in so no need for a custom cable unless you're doing a long run from the pre-amp.

That is great that they have three different connections for inputs.
Does anyone know if QSC did anything to change the sensitivity between connections? I think the pro connections usually run a stronger signal and sometimes you will get hiss using a pro amp when paired with a consumer pre.

They do not mention the input V on any of the inputs but I would imagine that since pro gear does not generally utilize RCA inputs for +4 signals that you would be safe in assuming that QSC has equipped the inputs accordingly.

Pro-gear line-level signal is generally 1.23V or +4dBv, while consumer gear line-level is generally 0.32V or -10dBv (although not standardized).

It's 1.2 Vrms.

I "assume" that is for all inputs as they only state the one value.

My bad. I should have said that QSC did not differentiate the input V of the inputs....

Back to our regular program...:D
