This question is indirectly related to audio/video: My audioholicism/videophilia has led me to start using a laptop on, 'er, my lap. Specifically, I have been reclining in bed with the laptop on my nether regions. Alot of heat comes out of the bottom of the computer, with the fan coming on frequently. The reproductive portion of my life is complete, so I'm not really worried about sperm count, but am I being cooked by microwaves or some other form of radiation that may be harmful? An inquiring audioholic mind wants to know.

There's nothing that I have heard - EVER - about laptops emitting anything that could be bad or damaging other than the known issue of the heat not being good for the swimmers.

If you are past the caring about having healthy swimmers in your bod stage of your life, then as far as I have ever heard you are a-ok.

Thought I'd have to delete this thread! :D

Anyway, for the sake of comfort if nothing else, there are aftermarket accessory laptop supports that provide air circulation and/or insulation.

heat in general is not good.. a hot tub or even hot bath is not recommended for guys if they are actively tryin to start up a family. It will effect your count for a few weeks i guess.. sometimes more.

it's more sensative than people think.

The Fire Down Below

I've seen those in BJs and I'm gonna pick one up tomorrow. Last night, they got so hot they were still roasting even after I removed the laptop, so I came to realize I had to do something. Right now, I'm sitting up with the computer on my knees, so I don't get that intense heat on the NADs. What I really need is a twelve step program to get me off of this habit, lol, but for now the laptop support will have to do. I suspect it will help the laptop run cooler and provide insulation.

Another question: Can the radiation from the wireless internet connection cause a health-related problem?
