Private Message Notifications

Is there any way to make it so that the "Your inbox is full" messages are sent BEFORE somone tries to send you a message that does not get to you because the server decided to let you know that your inbox is full instead of letting you read the message?

Wouldn't it make more sense to have a notification sent as soon as one's inbox is full rather than waiting until it's too late? I'm sure I'm not the only one that doesn't keep up constantly with the status of my PM inbox.

Also, why the 30 message limit? How much space does a text message take up? A few bytes/kilobytes?

We'll probably add this down the road as a value-added... as for the notification, we're stuck with whatever is possible through the software. Remember, we didn't write it.

I know you didn't write the software and you have no control over it. I was just wondering whether there was some sort of setting. Maybe a suggestion for vBulletin?

It happens to me quite often. I get the "Your inbox is full" message and I have to ask the person to send it again after clearing out my inbox.

.....I don't know, Guys, but how many PM's do you receive that you really need to keep?.....if I get one that contains some info I need to keep for at least a season, sure, but how often does that happen?....and on the other side of the fence, how many responses from me do I need to keep?....but hey, if the magic number of 30 receives an increase, fine, whatever, what's for supper?......
