They will give you an additional 10% if you're a member of Blockbuster Online. Also use the promotion code "holidaysurprise" (no quotes) to get an extra 30% off.

They do charge tax and shipping, so it's not a great deal for discs that are new for $5 at Fry's. I did snag Royal Spaceforce: Wings of Homeaise for $7!

HD DVDs from Blockbuster are BIOHAZARD

So, I decided to get a deal on HD DVDs for $7.99 and ordered a few titles. Actually, it came up to $6.50 with all discounts.

Imagine my surpise when after a few days I received a couple of envelopes from BB with several "biohazard" stickers on them biohazard.jpg

Wow, I wonder where the BB business would go if every DVD at BB store had those signs all over  biohazard 2.jpg

Anyway, out of 6 DVDs, one of the cases had 2 special features DVDs, but no movie  After hanging on the phone for 20 minutes, I received a return authorization to ship a DVD back, but I also have to pay for shipping.

Lesson learned, either buy new or buy used when you can check first. :D

Err...no. I buy used stuff online (E-bay, AVS, HighDefDigest, Audioholics, Amazon, half.com, Audiogon) all the time. I won't buy used UPS's or used mattresses. Everything else for the most part is fair game.

Out of the 10 or so discs I ordered from BB during this sale, only Heart: Alive in Seattle won't play due to possible scratches. Even my LG BH200 spits it out. I didn't have any stickers on mine other than anti-theft RFID tags.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, though. :(
