I liked this film. It had some negative connotations to it due to some of the subject matter in the film, but it was part of the story they were telling so I didn't feel it was out of place or overdone. The acting was excellent and the story is very good, though sad. It is one of those that can make you appreciate the things and people in your life. The story is fictional, but is essentially an amalgamation of various real life stories in one. Not too much on the AQ side as it is a drama. PQ is very good. Recommended.

This was my latest watch from Netflix. Per usual, I think it was hyped up for me, which is never a good thing. I thought it was ok. Worth a rental perhaps, but not a buy IMO.

Since I've been playing with a new sub, I was slightly regretting that it was a drama, but the dream sequences that she had, to escape, had some beats at least, or something, hehe. I thought PQ was fine, it could have been a lot worse, but it wasn't top tier either, IMO. I didn't even recognize some of the famous musicians playing roles in there, until after I watched it. I was surprised.

I got it off Netflix as well. It was the acting for me. Very well done and I thought Mo'nique, Mariah and Lenny all did great jobs; Mo'Nique as the crazy mom in particular. Story was predictable, but still had impact IMO. Yes, it was overhyped, but it was still pretty good. I agree and I should have said that, worth a rent but probably not a buy.

This movie should be viewed with a significant other to pay forward your 9th viewing of T2 with her. The crazy mother part was played to perfection. When ever she was on the screen I wanted to move out of my own place to get away from her. There were some pretty interesting food scenes and the fight scenes had me ducking for cover. Even though I didn't like the subject matter at all I have to admit that it was really well done and had my attention through out the film.
