I am currently using klipsch RF7 series speakers with a Denon 3802 AVR and B&K 200.2 2channel amp for my mains using the denon as a preamp. I want to add more components but dont know if the difference would be worth the extra cash. any thoughts on this ? I know there will be improvment but would it be enough to justify the extra cash?
the 3 options are as follows:
1. leave system as is, with the 2 channel amp running the mains speakers and the denon AVR running the rest of the 5 speakers
2. Get a B&K 3 channel amp for the center and the 2 surrounds and still use the denon to use as preamp and for the 2 surround backs
3. Ditch the denon and get a 5 channel amp to use with the 2 channel amp all connected to a B&K 50 series preamp.
obviously the last option is best but also a lot more money. would spending the extra cash be worth a noticeable difference.
