Help!

I am trying to choose between the best pre/pro receiver option. I am using JBL HT's for my Home Theater. I traded in the passive subs for a Canton AS 50. I have Canton Ergo 32's for surrounds. Finally, I am going to probably add Paradigm Studio 100's for Zone 2 listening only.

My goal is to upgrade to the best possible option below $2000. Any ideas? Comments.

I am new to home theater setups and have looked into purchasing a Yamaha or Denon A/V reciever. It is said the best systems are pre/pro and amp combo. I have read that you can start with A/v recievers then add an amp. Next step would be to upgrade reciever to pre/pro to go with the amp. I have flip flopped back and forth between Yamaha or Denon then I had a brain storm (little brain, little storm).
Yamaha RX-V1400 = about $799.00 msrp
Yamaha RX-V2400 = about $999.00 msrp
Denon AVR 3805 = about $1199.00 msrp
Outlaw 950 pre/pro plus 7100 amp = $1598.00

I am going with the Outlaw combo. Has good reviews and 30 day in home tryout with money back guarantee.

Check out all your options and do your homework. Listen to the people on the fourms and check out the equipment for yourself. The choice you make for yourself will in most cases be fine.

Just went through some of the same process you are going thru. Fact is there is always a better way to do things and a better system at a better price. Could drive yourself nuts. I think the most important thing is to sit down and be realistic about what you want your system to do. What is the size of your room. Who are your listeners? How loud or distinct do you want to pay for? One thing I have realized is that with technology growing like it is, there will always be a better option. There doesn't seem to be many wrong ways to go. Only better ones. In the last 48 hours I have heard that the Denon 3805 is the one to get, no the Yamaha rx-v2400, no the Harman Kardam 7200, no I mean the 7300, no get the marantz sr 7400. Not get the Yamaha 1400 with an amp. Every one of these are excellent suggestions. Problem was I only need one. See my point. End of the you got to like it. Try if you don't like it, send it back and try again. A little shipping wouldn't hurt too bad. Just my opinion could be wrong.

Since the Paradigm 100 is the speaker of your choice, I suggest you give the RXV-2400 as well as models from Denon, Marantz, Pioneer a serious in depth audition with CDs of your choice. Personally, the Paradigm speakers compliment Yamaha sound real nice.

Do the paradigm compare to the Axiom m60ti's. I am expecting my rx-v2400 to arrive by Friday. Looking to upgrade from my Bose 701's to something with a better sound quality.
