Kind of a Newbe sorry
Just got a Marantz 8802a Pre amp
have on order Emotiva XPA 5 3rd gen , it has balanced or unbalanced , used for zone one for 5.2 and 2.2
on order Emotiva A700 for zone 2 and 3 it only has unbalanced connections
I was told its bad ju ju to use both balanced and unbalanced at same time
does this pertain to my set up hooking XPA using balanced and A700 unbalanced or should I get another XPA instead

It's only bad to use balanced and unbalanced at the same time if we are talking about using the balanced AND the unbalanced connection for the SAME input (sometimes a single channel input will have each connection type, so you choose ONE of the connection types to use for that channel)

What slippery said. It will be fine using balanced connections for your main channels and unbalanced for the secondary zones.
