Pre-Amp for Onkyo 9100HT System

If you are referring to the Onkyo HT-S9100 system, then I believe that the answer is yes. I don't own a pre-amp, but I think that they connect to an amplifier using analog audio connections. The HT-S9100 has 7.1 analog inputs under the "DVD" input, and that's what I think you'd use.

Just curious - why are you thinking about adding a pre-amp to that unit?

Thanks your response. I was just curious if I could do it. I am really happy with the system, but would be interested in maybe getting a litlle more volume out of the gear. I have also been looking into two outdoor speakers, but have found that they seem to be lacking in decent low frequencies (according to reviews and ratings anyway). Any suggestions?

Hi. Great to see you back. I don't have any suggestions for outdoor speakers, and I'd suggest that you start a new thread in the "Loudspeakers" section to ask about those. There are certainly people here who have experience with outdoor speakers, and I think that they'll be more likely to see and respond to your question if you start a new thread specific to that.
