I need to be able to turn off the power for selected pieces of my AV gear to allow for a hard reset. Unfortunately, the power switch(s) for the equipment is buried inside of a rack. The rack itself, is inside of a closet. Some of the gear is not easy to get to

I am considering using X10 or Insteon devices to turn on and off – selected pieces of my AV gear. I am worried about unforeseen consequences…

Do power line products such as “x10” or “Insteon” introduce measurable distortion into a Audio/Home Theater setup?

Thanks for any help offered

No, it's the other way around...X-10 is susceptible to interference. Your system power will stay "clean" provided you give it dedicated circuits with dedicated grounds. Cheers.
