Power Sound Subwoofer "Hybrid" Class D and Class AB Amp

Anyone know how Power Sound amps work? What section is what? What does the Class D do? What does the Class AB do?

Also, I think I've narrowed my decision down to:
1. Dual PSA30's
or
2. Dual Rythmik F15HP (sealed)

Anyone have opinions on what to choose? How does the Rythmik F15HP with only one 15" sub and a slightly smaller 600watt amp ...accomplish about the same output and frequency response as PSA's TWO 15's and slightly larger 725watt amp?

Also curious about PSA's hybrid bash amp vs Rythmiks direct servo amp.

Any reason PSA went with that amp? Wondering if it is a similar design to the SVS "sledge" amp?

Personally in this application, I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about class D vs class AB. It's the final results that matter, and both Rythmik and PSA subs have been shown to perform quite well.

I'm unaware of either sub being bench tested by a reputable 3rd party, so it's tough to say exactly how close they are. What I can say is that taking the output numbers PSA lists for the XS30 and comparing them with the Velodyne DD18+ Josh Ricci tested a while back, the XS30 is comparable in the 20-32Hz range (a difference of 0.6dB in the Velo's favor), and the PSA offers considerably more output in the 40-63Hz band.

PSA was started by a few SVS people, one of which was the "V" from that name. That the Sledge amp and the one used by PSA are similar is likely for one simple reason: it works well.

I almost bought a SVS sub as the reviews are always very positive, but when i heard that the designers of most of their gear had a new company I checked it out and am Very happy with my PSA sub, it does everything I want a sub to do and the price was cheap for the quality product I recieved, happy camper here.
