I have had the RCA RT2500 Home Theater System for about 4 years now. When it was working I hardly ever used it, but when I needed to it worked.
One day, about 8-10 months ago, I was unable to turn it on. I thought it was weird and figured something was up with my surge protector. So I switched electrical ports and voila, it turned on and worked fine. A couple of weeks after that it wouldn't turn on again, so I tried a bunch of different plugs - even directly to the wall. Nothing worked.
The strange thing is that when I plug it into power I can see the little red light turn on in the 'power button' - or remote receiver. So it's definately getting power, but there's something wrong with the power mechanism or something. I tried unplugging all speakers from it - still no go. I took the cover off and re-plugged some power switches - still no go. Maybe there's not enough juice to power the system.
Does anyone have an idea of what I can do to fix this myself? Maybe someone has the same receiver and ran into the same problem. It figures that the $300 receiver goes bad as soon as my $100 3 year warranty runs out
