<!--[if gte mso 9]><![endif]--> I have owned my fair share of surround sound processors over the years. Sunfire, Integra Research, Aragon, Bryston, B&K, and numerous High end receivers from Yamaha, Denon, and Onkyo. At one time or another all have a quirk or bugs that would occasionally requiring a power-cord reboot? What causes this phenomena? And how is it that removing the power cord always fixes the problem.

Just like rebooting a computer. Any things in memory or process that got "stuck" get cleared and restarted (hopefully).
