Just wanted to know if anyone can tell me what the power consumption for the Denon 2805 and the Yamaha 1400 is? And if this a big deal
Thanks!

Don't know about the Denon, but the Yamaha 1400 power consumption is 500 watts (630 VA). Straight from page 85 of the owners manual.

The net says the 2805 consumes 5.6A at 120vac. If I recall some formula correctly, you can derive the power in watts by multiplying the two to get 672 watts. You can google search the brand or go to the Denon site to download the user manual in PDF formt. There you should see the power consumption. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, So if this math is correct does that would mean that the Denon would produce more power even though it's rated slightly less?

I also just compared the Denon 2805 and the Yammie 1400 with Paradigm monitor 7's, and I found that the sound was smoother with Denon, but more detailed with the Yammie. Although if I remember correctly the Denon has two direct modes (direct and pure direct) with the "direct mode" being able to still run your sub. Which to me is a big plus. I believe the Yamaha's direct mode does not give you the sub on/off option. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.
