I'm looking for some suggestions for a decent power conditioner. I'm going to be moving back into my fraternity house which I know does not have the best electrical system...there being only 2 outlets in each of the 30 some odd rooms. So I need something that will take all that background noise out and be safe for my equipment incase of a surge. Looking for something under 300 dollars, the more under the better, but I know ya get what ya pay for.

I have and use the Panamax 5300 . It might be priced a little over what you want to spend though. I've also seen several members here and abound recommend the Tripp-Lite isobar units which may be a little less expensive. I have personal bias against Monster products, but they do have a line of conditioners that may meet your needs.

yeah, a little more that I'd want to pay especially since the cost of this will have to be deducted from my total budget to my new system. I know it may sound funny, but I do want something full size like this to put in my audio rack not just something the size of a power strip.

Has anyone heard of
www.thetwistergroup.com

The reason I'm asking is they have rediculous deals on power conditioners like 60% off of msrp this is what I'm looking at now the Monster Power 3500 and this place is selling them for $260 for the Monster Power 2500 they only want $167. If anyone knows anything about this place let me know.

To my experience, I bought the Panamax 5300 from TwisterGroup without any problem.

Not sure of this, but Panamax may not honor warranties on units not purchased through authorized dealers. Scan the panamax site for a list of authorized online dealers.
