Power amp remote turn-on

I recently purchased an older Denon POA-5000. I am currently running Denons AVR-3600 receiver. The POA-5000 has a remote turn-on input on the back panel, but the AVR-3600 doesn't have a remote output.

I was told that a 12 volt ac/dc adaptor could be plugged into the "switched" outlet on the back of the receiver, and then ran into the remote turn-on input of the POA-5000. Will this work? Has anyone else had this problem?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it should work but you need to make sure the polarity of the connector (+ or - for the lead).
I do the same thing for my 5ES and HK PA5800 but I use only 7.5V DC adapter and it works very well.
Hope this help.

It works like a charm. I had to go with the 12 volts though.

Thanks for the info..
