I know just enough to know I do not know anything.
My wife and I are moving into a new house, and we are going to put our TV and receiver in the basement where the last owners were nice enough to install inset Bose speakers and have them wired to plug into a receiver.
We would like to have our Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable in the main floor living room. I have a pair of speakers (Pioneer SP-BS22-LR Andrew Jones) and a preamp (Pro-Ject Audio - Phono Box S). The question I have is whether I should get a power amp or just go with a receiver. I would prefer to spend $200 or less, but I would be willing to go up to $300 if it is worth the jump in price. The living room system will merely be used to play music, either from the turntable or maybe from a phone or computer.
The only reason I am thinking of a receiver is getting the ability to have a remote, Bluetooth, wifi, etc. Are there even power amps with these capabilities in my price range?
Any thoughts or recommendations? Should I go with just a power amp or at my price point, does a receiver make more sense?
Thanks
