TLDR first--- please if you can guys, keep your ears to the ground for either a pair of Von Schweikert VR-3's or PSB Stratus Goldi's (the i is preferred over the originals). Anywhere within a 2 or 3 hour drive from Richmond VA and I'm willing to drive. I'll be hitting up the usual sites with WTB's but not everything gets advertised online.
Things moved very quickly today... I've had both pairs of Von Schweikerts up for sale, knowing I had to move one or the other.
The VR-4's sold this morning. Just shortly after I helped the buyer load them in his car, I got an offer on the VR-33's! The guy is promising to pay Monday so we'll see.
So in the space of 2 or 3 weeks I've gone from having 2 pairs too many to (potentially) being short one pair.
VR-33 is worth too much money for Netflix duty in the living room, so I'd like to get some budget vintage towers to replace them. The VR-3's share the same tweeter and midrange as the VR-4, and I liked those very ,very much in the living room. The PSB's are on my "speaker bucket list" but before now I had no justification for getting a pair.
