I'm not worried if someone lies about their system; doesn't affect my life, and I don't see the point in doing so anyhow. I would of course like to see more photos just because it's more interesting to see photos of systems not because I doubt anybody's honesty.

I can go on the web and find pics and say they are my system too, so if someone wants to lie, there is no real way for you to really know that they are.

Also, not everyone HAS a digital camera...

Yes, its nice to have pictures, but that isn't the only reason to do it.

Myself

Although I have posted photos of my home theater in the members theater forum, I have also recently uploaded a link with copies of all my receipts, and my doctors blood and DNA analysis showing that I am in fact me, the owner of my system. Hopefully this shall clear up any problems or doubts brought about by people popping into the forum shouting out grammatically incorrect accusastions and innuendos about the true ownership of systems.

I would also note that genetic tests, and a complete review of my check books and credit card statements by an independant auditing company clearly prove that I do not now, nor have I ever owned anything by BOSE.

(regretably, this same audit company pointed out that I will not be able to replace my current speakers with a set of B&W 800 series)

I take it Loserwife is your auditor, too?

For I too was told new speakers are not within my fiscal reach for the near future.

didn't know I made such a error!

Here are a couple shots of my to be yet finished system.
The gear includes Sony DVD, JVC SVHS recorder, Monster power HTS 3600, Yamaha RX-V4600 receiver, pair of T5 NHT towers with amp and x-over, M6 center and L5 surrounds.
Hope this gives you an idea.

.....when a bunch of guys are equals, it's hard to take demanding from another, but I really didn't read DDigitalGuy to mean that....this "is" The Member Systems Gallery....I feel the word gallery should mean something with visual photos also, and I suspect if it were put to a vote, that is what would land....if you're proud of it, shoot it....I personally can't due to lack of decent camera....I'm thinkin' about flyin' Brian up from Hurricane Cove, affectionately known as The Gulf....it has some neat smells, but humid, good grief!....I borrowed out with the railroad to New Orleans for four months back in '02 starting in early August....I likta' DIED workin' in that breezeless yard with no clouds and it 95 to 98 for highs, and the HUMIDITY in the 90's percentile 24/7....we started at 8a, and I was soaked with my boots squishing at 9....thank Goodness it cooled off about the ides of Sept....it sure is a disappointment to click on a new gallery, and there not be no gallery, no?......

More in the way its said

I agree that I like to SEE photos of another members system rather than just read the components, especially when I may not know what they look like. It's also nice to see the general layout of others home theaters, I get a kick out of seeing all the little touches. I loved MajorLosers movie memorabilia for example.

I think the problem everyone had with the post was the attitude copped. It's one thing to say, <i>I'd like to see more actual photos</i>, than <i>Hey yood better post yur fotos or I dunt beleeve you own what you sez.</i>.

For members without digital cameras, many places now, even Wal Mart, offers film photos made onto CDs or discs. Try that!, that is what I did before I got a scanner and digital cameras. :)

.....BostonMark, you can take an exposed roll of print-film to Wal-Mart, and they will put all 36 shots on a CD that can be downloaded to a hard drive, and I don't have to take or buy any prints?.....

Pics are very cool to see. I'll start posting mine once my house is finished and everything is set up the way I want it.

But, if I was gonna lie, why would I use last year's models? For that matter, why a receiver instead of some really hi-end components? Why Infinity's instead of Appogee's? A 25,000 projector instead of a 1500 one? If I'm going to lie, you bet your sweet ars it's gonna be something better than what you see below. Why dream small?

The whole point of this forum "IS" to post pictures. I dont think anybody gives a **** about seeing a laundry list of component model numbers. It isnt as if we care enough to google to see what they are.

You can order it when you bring in the Un developed roll of film, or after you get your negatives back. I am pretty certain that you don't have to order prints if you don't want them. The Wal marts near me also have a scanner if you don't have the negative. That could be an option for people who want to post pictures without going out to buy a digital camera. Heck you could get a throw away camera, take the photos and have them turned into a CD of digital prints.

.....wow, thanks, BostonMark, I'm going to check with the local Super Wal-Mart and see what all can be done from print and slide film....I have some shots of Gulfport and surrounding areas before Katrina....they would show what I've talked about at times about night shooting off a tripod....and, I can take some pictures of my theater, but Guys, it's pitiful at this point....I could shoot the fishtank, which is lighted with flourescent strips that have been spray painted red and blue and gold and green, but I'm not sure which flourescent filter I would need....Brian?.....
