So you can definitely call me a beginner. I am moving into a new house and want to put my comcast box and reciever into a closet in the hallway. The comcast box will definitely work without being able to "see" it with the remote.

Are there receivers that are built that way or do i have to get special remotes and all that?

Also, If i am putting a 25 and a 50 hdmi and 40 feet subwoofer connector in the wall, do i need special ones? For HDMI do i need redmere technology? Along this line, There are wall plate connectors for HDMI...does this reduce the quality?

Redmere has worked for me at those lengths but with no intermediate connection. Iaw, use the open plates that allow you to pull the termination through the opening as I've had video problems otherwise.
The sub cable should be fine, I use tartan brand- good price and no issues. Use the same way as the reds and test everything before and after pulling!
with hdmi, and terminated wallplates, use 22ga. Hdmi ( very beefy)
cheers, Mac
ps monoprice is a good source
