Pretty cool how you can see the silhouette of the city in the background there. It's almost eerie looking. Too bad it's not that lake.. ;)

Anyway, here's some pictures from the same lake about 300 miles north of where your pics are. First is just a sunset picture, second is a panorama of 6 pictures overlooking a 450 feet sand dune bluff. The picture is obviously much larger than shown here.

This was from our room in St Thomas, by far the best water in the world, I've been everywhere from peru to Australia (OK, not everwhere, but peru, Australia, Mexico, all of Europe and the US, ect...) and the Virgin Islands had the nicest water, the camera can not even touch reproducing how blue and clear it was, I've never seen anything like it in my life, water so Blue yet you can see stuff swimming around on the bottom 20 feet down, just amazing... St Johns and St Thomas are the 2 spots me and my wife like to hide away, we have planned a vacation over night and left the next morning on more than one occasion, one of those places that when the kids come to you and say they want to go to Florida with their friends for a week you immediately picture yourself drinking some colorful drink that you would never let your poker buddies see you hold, with a tiny umbrella poking you in the cheek while sitting with your feet in the sand... I wish the airport was bigger (if anyone has been they know what I am talking about, but besides that its paradise) by far my favorite place to go or that Ive been, although Machu picchu was breathtaking, it was a lot of WALKING...

All the above beaches look very nice. Never been to a place with that nice of an ocean beach. Been to Ft. Lauderdale a number of times, but that's about it. My ocean swimming experience is very limited.

The only thing I can say is... The Great Lakes are all salt and shark free. Gotta love that! :D

Thanks for posting these guys! My wife goes to Orlando twice a year to see family, but because of my dads health I can only get away on these day trips. So I appreciate seeing these pics.!

We have plenty of seagulls here but I really miss pelicans. I'm guessing that what's crashing in the water in BSA's pic.

Polihale Beach on Kauai is the only time I've ever gotten that picture postcard beach experience. White sand, and NO ONE around. I'll have to dig up the pics but they're from way back when I only had a film camera. I went body surfing and thought to myself, "If something happens to me while I'm in the water, there's no one here to help me."
