I received Nil Recurring yesterday, the new "mini" album from these guys. Pretty interesting. Not what I was expecting and not really like the stuff that made it onto FOABP; some of it is harder, possibly stuff we got to hear at the Fillmore show last year. One song sounds like an early version of a song that did make it to the album. So far I like it, but it is different from their other recent work IMO. Here's what they said about it themselves:
Please note that the material on the album is definitely NOT comprised of "rejects" from the Fear of a Blank Planet album, in fact we consider it every bit as good, they just didn't fit into what was a very concept driven record. Nil Recurring is a completely self-contained and carefully executed work so you can consider this the second (albeit slightly short) Porcpine Tree album release of the year!
It sounds like they sold out as it was produced in limited quantities, however they said more will be produced due to the high demand.
