Got it today and threw it in for a few spins. On my first listen, I think I like the hires 2ch tracks better, but the 5ch mix is still pretty good. The 5ch mix sounds a tiny bit muffled at times but I like how it is front heavy. I actually think the most interesting 5ch mix so far is the bonus track What Happens Now? (from Nil Recurring) An excellent addition to their already outstanding DVD-A collection so far! I haven't had a chance to check out the videos yet.

Mine was shipped the 4th, I am hoping to get it soon! Pretty excited about this one. Glad to hear you like it :). I do wish I had some sort of tracking number or something to get a clue as to where it is. I mean its coming all the way from the UK and all I know is it was shipped the 4th. Ohh well, I am sure it will be here soon.

Mine shipped the 4th as well. I feared they might have gotten held up due to a postal strike over there. Great to hear they're arriving.

I found that I had some how tweaked my configuration for my multichannel input and that was what caused the muffled sound. Once corrected, I'd say this one is one of their best ones so far...

The video content appears to be what they showed on the screens at the show, with the possible exception of "Intro" (seems familiar, but I'm not sure). Absent was the video accompanying Way Out, which I liked.

I liked Deadwing, but Fear... just didn't do it for me. Not really sure why.

Yes, the MCH mix is fine...textured and dense in the heavy metal parts winding down to subtle and delicate. The music isn't as accessible, but deserves several listens. Also agree on Nil Recurring tracks...maybe it's just that these are fresh, but the MCH is outstanding.

FOABP is fairly different from previous stuff IMO, just as their early stuff is pretty different from In Absentia and Deadwing...so I just see it as a continuing evolution.

Same here, so far. But that usually is a good thing in my case. Many of my favorites took repeated listenings to hook me.

I was hooked on this album after the first listen. It isn't my favorite from them, but I do enjoy this one quite a bit. Having seen them perform most of these tracks live once before it came out and once after might have influenced that too though....:) Anesthetize and Way Out are my favorite tracks on this one.

I don't have a favorite PT album. They each offer something unique and there is definitely some evolution going on. The MCH version of FOABP seems to take what SW learned on the previous releases and recreated more of their live sound. PT's musicianship doesn't display over the top virtuosity in any element, but the blend of talent, song writing, mix and presentation makes them more than special.
