popping sounds w/ Cary c11, Sunfire combo

I have noticed when I switch away from my Oppo BDP 83 to another source on my Cary Cinema 11 (like to my music server) and then back to the DVD input - I get a horrid two-stage pop. First a little click/pop noise one and then a bigger one, and then the music or audio comes through. I sent my Cary C11 to Cary service and they said they could not replicate the problem. Also said there was no "DC offset" issue, and to check for ground loops. really? Ground loops that just came up all of the sudden?

Could this be a problem with my old Sunfire Cinema Grand amp?
It doesn't seem like an amp issue because it's only when i switch back to the DVD player. "snap POP" and then the source comes through.
Or, is Cary blowing me off.

Do you know anyone with a Amp you could borrow for a day and swap the sunfire with it . Step by step you should get to the problem

no amps in sight

No one out here has an amp. I live in Tyler Texas. I'm an old guy with only poor (or smart) friends who don't mess with this "high end" stuff.

Could Cary be right about ground problems causing this? I have everything AC run through a good Panamax power center.
