Polk TSI500 or Martin Logan Preface

Hey guys,

From a pure quality of sound standpoint, which would deliver more? I'd like some opinions from you knowledgeable audioholics. I'm a big music listener, and as a result, musical quality is important to me. I tend to listen to a lot of Korn's bass heavy music, and a decent amount of reggae(I already have the sub covered) but would like my two fronts to be able to handle this kind of content. Apart from that, a lot of jazz, classic rock, grunge, and some of the newer pop music out these days. I would like HT quality to be taken into consideration as well, I watch a lot of TV and movies throughout the week with an HD DirecTV receiver and Samsung Blu-ray player.

They won't be powered to their full potential, probably by something like an Onkyo TX-NR708 or possibly an 808, although I'm not sure if my Polk A1 surrounds will be able to handle the 135w load...which brings me to one more question. If I DO decide to go with the 808, will my A1s(which I love) be able to handle the higher than recommended amp. without blowing up? Thanks.

Yep, I realize they're two different speakers. The 808 reckons it can drive a 4ohm receiver. However, I'm not sure how well it would do this.

That's fine, I think I would only be using the L and R front channels with the preface anyway. I appreciate the help.
