Polk Signature vs. Klipsch Reference??

I recently bought (2) Klipsch R-26Fs to relpace my (given to me) 10+ year old Polks RM50Ts. I've owned various models of Polks for the past 20-years and am wondering if anybody can shed some light if the new Signature Series from Polk are comparable to the Klipsch noted above? Also, has anybody heard the new Polk Signature series? Final question: Is one better than the other? I'm expecting lots of suggestive opinions to that question...

I have not heard them but they appear to be a replacement for the RTiA line? Looks like similar pricing which would mean one of them has to go. I'll guess they will show up in Best Buy soon, so I'd really recommend you go listen to them. The RTiA line was not terrible, but ultimately it depends on your price range and for what useage?

Thanks for replying j_gracia...mostly music listening during the week and home theater on the weekends.

Price range is $300-$400 per speaker...I'm pushing them with an Onkyo TX-NR656.

Are you not happy with the Klipsch? For mostly music I'd have to say you can do better than Polk at the $400/ea price point.

It is a bookshelf but they sell an integrated pedestal that effectively turns it into a tower. These will best those you mentioned for music listening IMO, and they'd be on the low end of your price range. Should have no issues being driven by that AVR.

There are others I can't think of off the top of my head, and I'm sure others will chime in.

Also for the money, SVS has a handful of their Ultra Bookshelf Speakers in their outlet right now (scroll down) that come in just under $400 apiece. I own a set and they're awesome speakers. Especially at $800/pr.

Well I personally am not a huge fan of the Polks but I'll shoot some solid suggestions. I think either the Klipsch RP line, ELACs, or even JBL Studios would be much better options. Call distributors for better more competitive pricing. I managed to get my RP280s for 850 new and shipped. My best friend recently bought the ELAC B6s and those are amazing; I'm sure the rest of the line is the same as well as the unifi.

There are still some close out Wharedale Jade 1s left, at $600 a pair, that is a fantastically good deal. These bookshelf speaker sound great, and they are 50% off their regular price. The only problem is there is no corresponding center channel available anymore. But for a two channel system, you are not going to beat that deal.

One speaker I really like is the Revel Concerto2 M16 bookshelf speakers. Just a great well-rounded speaker. It does everything well, and nothing bad. A very good value, and there is a corresponding center available for that line. These have a nice wide, uniform dispersion and so they image superbly.

If you have a larger room or like to crank it, you should look at the Hsu CCB-8. It's a new product, and I have not seen measurements for it, but the engineering behind the speaker make it very promising. It should do extremely well for both music and movies. It is its own center channel too, and as a center its design should make it superior to conventional center speakers.
