Polk RTI12 or Infinity Beta50

I could really use some of your guys opinions as to which set of speakers is considered better as far as sound quality. I just cant decide between the two and need some other peoples insight. I work for a electronics store and the only good speakers we carry are infinity and polk. I get 65% off these speakers so I must stay with polk or infinity or I can not afford nice speakers. Thanks for any help.

Speakers are, more than anything, a matter of personal taste. It may also depend on the reciever they'll be paired with.
From my experience and preference the Polk line has a much richer sound when paired with the Yamaha reciever I already own. The RTI10's are a solid contender for when my upgrade fever gets the best of me.

Which receiver will you be using? Those two speakers are very different sounding. You really need to decide which sound you prefer.

Since you work at the store, is it possible to take a set of speakers home with your for a good weekend audition?

The best advice anybody can give you, is use your own ears, in your own home, within your budget.

By the way, never forget WAF, always get the best looking/sounding speakers for her, because you will never hear the end of it, if you don't.

So you work at circuit city, eh zack? me too.... I think that the polks are just better bang for your buck. I think they sound better, have better warranty service if needed, and have one other advantage you may not be aware of. Infinity charges shipping whereas polk does not. I have already got a set of towers, the plk sw505 sub, the FXI3's, and a CSI3 from polk, and they shipped it all no charge. The Infinity beta's are really closer to the Polk monitor series in performance and quality. Real wood veneer on the polks just makes it feel much better in your place, too. The beta's are nice, but the RT's are nicer.
