I work @ circuit $hitty :D and we get a great deal on Polk and infinity, usually @ about 65% off directly from the manufacturer, with polk giving free shipping. Cost isn't a big problem for me right now, and I need to upgrade my mains. The HT manager @ work says that for the buck, the RTi 8's sound great, even better than the RTi10's. Right now, given my current prices, I am wondering which I should get..... If anyone has heard these three speakers, I would love a comparison recommendation....
I have a Csi3 center, FXi3 rears, will be getting some RTi bookshelves for rear surround, and a PSW505 12" sub. My cost on speakers are as follows:

Rti8's = 149 each
Rti10's = 199 each
Rti12's = 299 each

I also plan on getting another PSW505 just because I can, and my room size is 24x14x8. I'm kinda leaning toward the 12's, for the simple fact that they are the "biggest and the baddest", and whatever.....
I do about 60/40 movies/music, and I got a projector, yadda yadda yadda, and wow factor is cool with the 12's, but I think that all of them would really suit my needs.... for some reason I'm not really feeling the 10's, but I haven't been able to demo any of 'em yet... Unfortunately, I don't know of anywhere in Wilmington NC where I can check out all 3 at the same location....

Suggestions, anyone?
Maybe as a side factor I should mention my Onkyo 602 with no problems in the video section, thank you very much..... :) So wattage and amperage isn't just abounding over here in my neck of the woods, but then again my room isn't huge, I'm not trying to hit 128dB, and I can always upgrade that later, too, right?

Thanks for the help!

I have heard the 8s and the 10s, not the 12s.
I don't know if I agree that the 8s sound better than the 10s. While the 8s have a more solid sound, the 10s, at least to my ears, seem to have "bigger" bass. Perhaps that's where the opinion that the 8s sound better comes from. I can see that the "bigger bass" sound could be percieved as somewhat sloppy. This may be due to improper calibration of the reciever.

All of those prices are outstanding. Is Circuit City looking for temporary help? Maybe for a day or so?

Heard the 12's...

I demo'd the RTi 12's when I bought my LSi15's and I thought the LSi's sounded significantly better so I bought them. Having said that Tweeter were selling the RTi's 12's for $650 a speaker and the LSi's at $700 per. The extra $50 was definitely worth it.

At those prices you mentioned I may have been tempted to go for RTi's...or at least see if they could cut me a simiilar deal on the LSi's! To my ears the 12's sounded good...but a little bright and bass light compared to the LSi's.

But assuming they sound good to you...you're not going to get better value than that. You can't even get lame Bose and Northridge at that price!
