what are some strengths/weakness between the 2. my listening is 40% video games (lots of gunshots and explosions), 40% music (rock/rap) and 20% movies. powered by receiver, no plans on a amp for a while

I do not have any information to offer for the Polks however I would like to inform you that Aperion Audio (internet direct) offer a no risk trial period unlike Axiom and other ID brands.

just a warning from experience, polk speakers are very bright, if you cannot stand bright speakers, avoid all polk stuff.

Polk Audio speakers can be a bit bright with the exception of the LSi series. But not nearly as much as Klipsch. I've heard the Axiom M60v3, and personally I found them to be dull, thin, and lifeless. They also use vinyl instead of veneer for the exterior, if that matters to you. I second taking a serious look at Aperion, the 4T or 5T would be a terrific choice. The EMP E5Ti would be worthy of consideration.
