Monitor 70's are very nice speakers and this weekend's pricing at Newegg is really too good to pass up. They will make a great "stereo pair", or add the Polk CS2 center channel (also on sale) to have a great "front 3" in a home theater setup.

The Newegg sale is a 48 hour sale, so you don't have a long time to think about it.

Good luck. ;)

Thanks a lot. They are going to be a stereo pair. I purchased the AVR 1610/Klipsch HDT1000 combo from 6 ave so I'm good for surround, although I used to work at best buy and know how freakin awesome it might be with those as my front 2 surrounds. Not bad for $1000 altogether (and I'm going to sell the ipod dock, I don't need it) I think.

Funny thing about this company, and just my opinion after owning some RTs 10 years ago(rt35s)......I have actually liked their entry level speakers (ie monitor series) better than their more expensive offerings...That includes their LSI line which looks great and tests well, but requires a lot of amp power....I think you are making a good choice....the raw components would cost almost as much as the finished product on these....
