If this has been covered in depth already, I apologize. I thought that I was going to buy the Primus P362 sight unseen just based on the feedback and reviews that I have read. That is until I went to Atlanta this week for a trade show and saw a Fry's. The 362's were awesome and I thought they sounded incredible for the price. While at Fry's I spoke with an sales guy who seemed somewhat knowledgeable. His 2 favorites in the room were the P362's and the Polk Tsi500. I had not even tried them out but when I did they sounded a bit warmer and I liked the sound as well. From what I have read, The Polk Tsi500 is essentially the same as the Monitor 70's. Newegg has the Polk deals and Fry's has the Primus P362 deals. I can't really find any credible reviews on the Polks but I can find them on the Infinity's. So here I am asking you guys to give me your thoughts. Reviews, thoughts, Gladiator Thumbs up or down! Help me:eek:.
Thanks Guys!

BTW, you can really increase the SQ of the P362 by putting in some good quality acoustic damping material in the mid-bass cabinet. The stuff that comes stock is useless (literally). So, imagine the already good value SQ being substantially increased with a pretty cheap and easy mod.

I would also recommend the Infinities over Polk. I've owned a 5.1 set of Infinity Primus until recently and for the price, they are very good. I chose them over Polk when I bought them. My only advice is to stay away from the Infinity subs. I thought the one I had (12 inch) was a bit muddy for music.

If I do the Level 1 Modification that you had posted (I have to find it again). Will I be happy with the bass response? I won't be able to afford a sub right away?:(

Sure, the mod will actually tighten up the bass. The speakers really don't have sufficient bass response, though, if you want moderate to high SPL 30Hz and lower high impact capability. But, with twin 6.5" midbasses, 50hz+output can be very considerable; but that would need an active crossover to cut frequencies lower from the mains and of course suitable high quality sub(s) for the LF. Look at it as a future upgrade.
