Polk Monitor 50 vs. Bic Acoustech HT75

I've been looking to get some new towers but can't decide. I'm on a pretty tight budget and right now, the Polks are a little more than I want to spend. I've heard the Polks and like them, but I've heard the Bic's are some of the best for the price but I've never listened to those. Can anyone give me a comparison about which might be better or where I can find a good deal on the Polk's? Or maybe if you have a suggestion for something other than either of those but in the under $400 range?

I've heard both, but not in the same room. The BIC's were brighter decidedly due to the horns, but not unpleasant to my hearing. I like Polks but they can be a bit power hungry even in the economy lines. Depends on what you are using them for, if you are using them for movies the BICs are really something for the money. For music, well... I'd probably go for the Polks. In the $400 range you might consider going for bookshelf speakers and some stands. Axiom M22s are pretty awesome and if you shop their b-stock you should be able to come right at $400 or there abouts. They won't make you miss the towers :D

You also may want to check out Polk R50's at outpost.com if they still have any left (you may have to call them). When in stock they go on sale frequently at $69.99 a pair and they are pretty similar to the monitor 50's

Onix floorstanders

AV123.com is comming out with a floorstander version of their Onix X-LS speakers for $300 / pair. They have posted a few pics on their forum and they look great with the real wood veneer. Further down the road, they will have a powered woofer version with 2 mid drivers for $600 / pair.

Thanks for the advice. I will be rarely listening to music on them so it'll be mostly for movie watching. I guess the BIC Acoustech is probably the way I'm leaning towards. If anyone else has any suggestions, please feel free to throw them this way.
