Hello,

I just purchased some new toys. After reading many good reviews, and forum conversations about the LSi line. I purchased the Polk LSi9's, LSi7's, and LSiC. :D :D :D

http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/lsi9/

And recommendations on Amp's for these.

Also I'm looking for wall brackets. They have to be able to adjust 180*, and pivot up, and down. My couch is up against a wall, and I need to be able to aim the speakers down at the listening area. Any help would be appreciated.

If you can avoid mounting the surroudns on the wall, I would recommend that. That's a pretty nice setup though. I used to have a full set of 7s.

What's your budget? You're going to want something fairly stout that can handle the 4 Ohm impedance of these speakers, or a decent receiver and an amp.

I have a couch that sits right on the wall. And stands wouldn't work. SO I need mounts if I can get them.

Budget? No Budget. I'm looking into Rotel RB-1080's or Outlaw Momo 2200's, or Parasound A23's.

I am running Polk LSi 9's and 7's off a Denon AVR 3805.

Volume levels are adaquate. I consider adaquate when the guy in the house next door can tell me what movie I am watching :D

Bass signals are the big drain on power, and since you WILL have a sub, any one of your choices will be more than adaquate to power the speakers.

Any of those amps would be good.

Stands work OK with a couch against the wall, as long as you have room to place them on either side. For monopole surrounds, you don't want to point them directly at the listener because even when calibrated this can create a distracting effect. Instead, you would point the 7s in towards the center of the listening area and that will give you a nice, diffused effect.

From my experiance Lsi's really come alive when driven by a strong amp or amps. has far as placement I'd give j_garcia's advice a try.

How far out from the ends of the couch should the speakers be placed? One, Two, Three, Five, Ten feet from ends out couch?

3-5 feet should be good. It's impossible to say what will sound best in your room; you'll have to experiment with how you aim them and how far apart to get the right sound for your particular setup.

That's the problem. I don't have room next to the couch. I only have about
6"-1' to spread them out. :( That's the reason I need wall mounts.

Well, wall mount it is then :) The good thing is, they have that integrated bracket/power port on the back that means you don't have to damage the piano gloss finish. You can check out www.audioadvisor.com and Parts Express .com

awesome

First I have to say I didn't know these speakers came with a wood, & piano finish. The sides are wood, and the tops, and face are a piano black finish. They are a really good looking speaker. I couldn't believe how heavy they are. I am very impressed with there appearance.

I can't wait to hear them. If they sound as good as they look, that would be "Totally Awesome".

They definitely have some nice looking cabinets and I was impressed with the overall build quality.

Yes your right the build quality seems to be very good. Something you don't expect from a Polk speaker. But these aren't your regular Polk's. Very Heavy.
