Hey Guys,

I just ordered some Polk R300 floor standers from outpost.com for $49 each and $17 for shipping!

I have no idea if they are any good, but for a cost less than SDAT's or TR's, I had to jump.

Does anybody have these? Which center do you use? I guess I need to find a center to match now:D

Well Polk is probably better than SDAT's or Theater Reseach speakers, because TR and SDAT is a scam, (do not buy speakers from those companies, for example they literally put bricks in the cabinets to make them heavier so they appear to be nice). SDAT isn't as bad as TR, but they are still not good, and you can get a much beter value, as you already have.

Enjoy your new speakers.:D

It was a joke! :D

I've been around here long enough to know all about the white van speakers, that's why I mentioned how nice it is to get a nice speaker from a reputable company for similar prices.

I'm guessing the R300's are just a newer version of the R30's, except the port is now in the rear instead of the front. I have the R30's as mains and the matching R15's for surround and surround back. Polk reccomends the CS1 as the matching center, but actually the CSi25 is the matching center. I looked on Friday and outpost.com had the csi25 for about $70 + shipping, but you can easily find them on ebay. I originally purchased the CS1 for a center, but after reading some reviews on the CS2 I sold the CS1 and got the CS2, since it uses 6.5" woofers instead of the 5.25" woofers, and it does sound much better, even though it was $100 more. I got the CS1 for $100 on ebay, and the CS2 from the same person for $200... both prices were $100 less than retail. You really can't beat those speakers for the money. I would get the matching bookshelf speakers too if you are setting up a HT system.

update

So I ended up going back and ordering the R15's for the side surrounds (instead of the R150's that were the same price because they are rear ported and I plan to wall mount them, making a front port more beneficial) for $49.99/pair and the CSi25 center channel for $69.99. I couldn't resist a 5.0 system from a reputable brand for $220 + shipping!

Yeah, I got my R15's and R30's from them... sometimes the R15's go on sale for $39.99 plus shipping, but still not bad at all. Just stay away from the Polk subs, you can do much better for the money. If you are looking for a good budget subs, Dayton subs are good for the money, check them out at parts express dot com
