I doubt they're fake. Polk's mainstream unlike SVS, Hsu, etc which most people aren't familiar with. And at $200 on sale, the 505 is affordable and the expectations aren't enormous. Heck, if your only other frame of reference is a mediocre movie theater, the 505 might sound pretty good.

That's exactly it and you can usually quickly tell which ones are like that too. To THEM is is awesome, but the reality is, they don't know any better. As the saying goes : Ignorance is bliss.

I'm not going to rain on anyone's Parade. When they are being discounted they are worth what you pay for. In context of that I have no problems with those reviews. One can always do better, but not necessarily, afford to do better.

Yes, at the discounted price, I am sure it is quite good for $200 and comparable to others out there in that price range.
