Has anyone had experience with the Polk Audio CSW100 Built In Floor/Ceiling Subwoofer?

We are finishing our basement and plan on mounting the unit in the ceiling. We're empty nesters who aren't out to rattle our house. We want an enjoyable movie experience and wanted to upgrade our 1930's house for today's buyer.

We have 11 inches from the upper floor flooring to the drywall. The subwoofer is 9 inches deep and mounting brackets appear to attach to the floor joists on the sides of the unit. These are my questions:

1. The subwoofer comes with a small standard size floor register that you drywall around. Instead, I felt like access to the unit was necessary and have found a primed wood air return grill that is the size of our opening. I plan to have this bolted to the ceiling. I'm thinking this will allow air flow at least as generous as the smaller duct. I am thinking paintable wood instead of metal for appearance and less rattle (although there is a thin alunimum frame that comes with the cover). Am I on a viable tract?

2. I've been told that the isolation pads are essential to limiting the rattle. Do I need more pads than are supplied in the box? I was thinking some sort of padding between the upper floor and the subwoofer. Your thoughts?

3. Any hints on how to mount?

I've had so many people telling me so many things and trying to sell me so many products. This product appears to satisfy my design for the room, and I really appreciate your input. I own the unit and have to make it work.
