hey all i got a Polk 8 inch 100w sub with my RM705 speakers and i bought a Monster Power 10 inch 125w sub that was on sell at CC. (the Monster dose sound better)I have them hooked together with the y spliter and are almost in the middle of the room left and right side next to walls. the Polk has a Left and right inputs a PHASE SWICTH ( 0 to 180) a LOW PASS( 0 to 180) toggel and a volume switch. the Monster has 1 input , a NORMAL and REVERSE switch , a THX and Variable switch and a volume switch. now can someone explain all this to me and the best way to set them up and will they sound good together or should i use just 1 sub? please help my wife is tired of seeing all the speakers sitting out and me fiddling with them sayings im almost done hunny!!

Corner load them both in the same corner. These subs don't have enough output to warrant most other placements. Your best bet is the corner load them closest to where you sit. If you can localize turn down the volume.

LFE level is a matter of preference. If your talking about the bass tone controls you shouldn't need to touch those.

Set your receiver to max volume on your receiver and then reduce your gain controls on your subs. to minimum. Increase the volume until you start localizing. Then decrease the volume a tad so that you don't get localization. That will give you the most impressive output and ensure that your receiver sends enough voltage via your cables to run the subs.

Now if you never localize then I suggest you try to keep it at half or less the gain. Also you can listen for distortion. If the SQ drops turn it down.
