If you look at video you can see people permanently throwing tyres onto the fire, this is to maximize fume and smoke in order to protect themselves from the special police forces, now it's too hard for police to get through all this smoke+++ I believe.
Sports shops are of course empty now, because it bl#¤¤#y cold, and people need to keep warm.
