PLIIx garbled sound ?

Using the PLIIx decoder with a 2 channel source,I get garbled sounds thru my surround speakers (only noticeable whenI place the speaker on my ear).However, everything sounds fine when converting Dolby 5.1 to 6.1 using PLIx. Any ideas ? Yamaha HTR-5740 Thanks

What kind of 2 ch source? CD? Is it garbled when you are not on top of it?

All your channels are level matched properly?

I hope you don't regularly listen your system with the speaker's on your ears. Anyways, 2-channel recording's as you probably know don't recorded with surround sound in mind. When you listen in Dolby Pro Logic only certain frequencies are sent to the surround channels so depending on what you are listening and the types of sounds in the track it may sound really nice or it may sound like garbage.
