Please suggest Polk center channel

Hi,

I currently run an Onkyo TX-SR602 7.1 receiver with Polk R50 towers up front, R30s in the back and R15s in the side. I also have a Polk PSW202 sub and Polk CSi20 center channel.

The CSi20 is in need of an upgrade. Its in great shape but I just want something with 2 drivers atleast (CSi20 has just one) and preferably from the same generation of polk speakers as the R50, R30 etc. Any advise?? I guess if I were to choose from one these, which one should it be:

They are hard to find

You may have trouble finding the same gen center seeing that is a few years old. As long as the tweeter is the same, and you don't mind the newer look, I would consider a newer Polk with the 6.5" drivers. I prefer them over the 5" since the center channel does so much work with video. Did you try ebay?

If these are out of your price range, consider the BIC CLRS62. It has 6.5" woofers, a similar dome tweeter, and runs under $125. Some consider it one of the best sounding centers made. It compares to my CSi5 - I will vouch for it.

Polk CS350 good

Is the polk CS350 a good choice??

It's a monster.

If it were that good, they'd still be making it. My bet is it was too large to sell, and Polk figured out two 6.5" woofers put out better bass than four 4.5" mini woofers. Ebay has the CSi40 and CS400i which I think is a better bet, and compares to my $400 CSi5 for a fraction of the price.
