hi all :D, i am planning to buy a HT system. my budget is $600 for both 5.1 or 7.1 speakers and receiver. what is the best system i can get? i saw some deals in accessories4less [onkyo HT s7200] and .usa.denon.[denonDHT-590BA] are they any good. i can't stretch my budget any further. that is absolute upper range. i will change my place in 8 months. i will get a brand new 1 at that time.
and my room size is 14'x18'.
thank you:D

Hey Kannan and Welcome to Audioholics,
Imo if you plan to move in only 8 months, I'd recommend keep off the whole purchase till you are moved or at least: Just get receiver and front/left speakers now to vastly improve sound from your TV i assume and the rest after you move.
Now , $600 for 7.1 and receiver isn't much at all, even at 2.0, but if you get refub Onkyo 507 for about $250, you'll have left with $350 to spent for speakers.

I believe you can find a pair of decent bookshelf's for this price.

Good recommndation from BoredSysAdmin - For speakers get Paradigm Atom v.6 - $249-$299 a pair. Get cables and connectors from Monoprice.com or bluejeanscable.com

Another potential option... my friend here at the office just wanted to have some HT in his house. His wife was putting the big kabosh on his dream system. He bought himself a Samsung home theater in the box deal and I have to say, for the money, it's pretty nice. We watched part of Iron Man and I have to say it wasn't bad. Not blow your doors off or anything but definately gave you a nice experience.

I know you're talking about upgrading, but perhaps you'd be happy with such a system for a longer than you think.

Beyond that, I wholly concur with my friends above.
