Ok After reading speaker reviews for about the last month I know I really screwed up by buying the bose acoustimass 16 series series 2 speakers for my denon 3806 receiver about a year ago....since then I just sold my denon and bought yamaha v3900 thinking I would get better sound from a different receiver and im still disapointed with the flat sounding bose speakers!!....I need speakers that will really fill up my room with full sounds when listening to music and when watching movies give you that wow effect!!...Ive read many reviews and havent been able to pinpoint some serious speakers that would be on the same level with my receiever...and even worse im located in an area that doesnt have any high end audio stores around I can go to and sample equipment!!...I wanted to spend in general about 2k on speakers but they have to be some amazing sounding speakers with that wow effect!!....any recommendations and advice is greatly appreciated!!!! thanks!!

Thanks for the budget that's usually a good place to start. Some more questions for you so we can help you better. Do you have any size restraints? Are you looking for 5.1 7.1 what? And how big is your room?

my room is roughly 18 x 13.5 but It seems alot smaller with 2 oversized couches and a 67 dlp tv and stand....so not an outstanding amount of space!!...As far as minimum I would at least expect 5.1 for around 2k ....then I can add when funds become available to ideal 7.1!

If size is no problem than I would look into Axiom, SVS, The Speaker Company, and anything I could listen to at a store. I'd also suggest AV123 but there are a ton of questions as to what's going on with them right now. I'm waiting on some of their speakers I just bought used and they should be here Friday:D Shame I wont get to set them up till probably Monday:rolleyes::mad: Damn work

Since you've been listening to Bose almost anything is an upgrade.:) Which is a nice thing:D

Surrounds aren't super important. So just stick with them boses

Then you could spend the 2k on subs and fronts.

I suggest you get 1k towers and spend 1k on subs

Phantom the center and use the Bose speakers as surrounds and you will have a very nice setup.

If you can sell the Bose set for a few hundred you could change to KEF eggs or something similar for surrounds.

I knew I was forget a brand. If you don't mind used there have been a few sets of Ascends in the Classifieds lately to save a little more.
