Hello,

I recently was given a Sony Compact Disc Recorder (RCD-W500C), and I need some help. I have it hooked up to an old(er) receiver and I don't have the owner's manual...so, I can see that it has the capability of burning audio files to cd's, but how do I do it? There is no mic jack on it anywhere. There are in/out analog jacks, and an in/out digital optical jack.

Please help. I am totally lost on how to get audio files into the maching in order to record them to a disc. Do I have to run it in to my receiver somehow and then into the recorder? Is there a way to plug a mic into the digital optical jack? I have no idea and am clueless. Thank you for any advice.

tainter, welcome to the forum!

You can get the manual (and other documentation) from Sony by clicking here. If the manual doesn't answer your questions, let us know and we'll get you set up.

Yeah. I think you need to obtain the manual per Adam's suggestion.

If you want to dub cd to cd, nothing else needs to be wired...it is all parformed within the player. If you are introducing another source...that obviously has to be connected.

I suggest you obtain the manual and read it. Recording and patching cables will then be a slice. Cheers.
