I have upgraded my center speaker from an Infinity Primus C25 to the new Primus PC350. As such, been thinking about mounting the C25 up on my back wall. However, my seating position is up against the back wall so am not sure if doing so would really make much of a difference. Currently, I have the Primus 360's up front, soon to have the PC350 center, and the 150's mounted on my walls that are to my right and left of my seating position respectively. The 150's are mounted about 5' from the floor. My front-stage is about 9' from my seating position. The C25 that I have been using as a center speaker would have to be mounted higher than 5' to say 6.25'-6.5' from the floor OR about a 1.5' higher than what my 150's are mounted. My listening environment is about 20' X 13' X 7.25' high which would be considered "medium" size. Therefore, putting the C25 on the back wall would give me a 6.1 set-up. Will this add some ambience or am I wasting my time? Please help if you can and feel free to elaborate. Thank you for your time.:) :)

If you've got the room, I'd suggest placing it on the floor firing upwards behind the seating for a test run.

Ummm I can make some room behind my couch BUT what would I gain by doing so? Never had anyone recommend that. No pun intended but care to be a bit more specific? Is mounting on the back wall not a good idea?

1.5 ft higher than the surround R/L is fine. I don't see any problem mounting it on the back wall.
