I just recieve my pbnds12/2 and i just realize i dont know how to hook it up.
I have a yamaha reciever and all i got is the SINGLE rca out for sub and i found out that the pb12/2 doesnt even have single rca in.
So what do i do now?
is there any other option on my reciever that i can hook this up with?
this question is importand for me, Does a sub like this one compatible with all recievers?

The tag thats on the sub saids" Warning, this svs must have a correctly matching foam port plug and amp subsonic filter (ss filter) configuration. damage may result if the following is disregarded!

what it saids on the tag really scare me cuz i have no clue how this is work and there alots of button option on the sub. What exactly does this mean?

did your sub come with a manual?

because this is right there in the manual:
connect LFE out to EITHER left or RIGHT ... it DOESNT MATTER

there are 3 holes on the back of your sub ...

if there are no foam plugs in ANY hole
set the subsonic filter to the 25hz setting

if you plug one hole with the included foam
set the subsonic filter to the 20hz setting

if you plug two holes with the included foam EACH
set the subsonic filter to the 16hz setting

the subsonic filter is the dial that says "subsonic filter"

cough RTFM cough

haha...that was easy. Sorry gotta ask but that tag scares me cuz i dont know what i means at first. This is a expansive toy to me so dont want to screw it up.
So since i got that big thing going, is there a way i should set it to its best?

Just a couple more question please.
1. From what i learn here i know that 16hz will give me the lowest bass right?
if so what will i sacrifice and does it matter which tune i plug?

2. I have no idea what the phase knob or the on/auto switch do and what is cross over?
mind to explain to a newbie?

where are you located? if you are in the US ... it is best that you call SVS directly ... it is their product, you earned the right to ask all those questions to them since you bought their product.

I have the same sub -
RCA cable is your friend (buy one from Radioshack at worst case senario when you buy the sound meter) and follow the manual. Read the warning tags on the back of the sub, follow the advisements on those tags and in your case I would definately save all the shipping materials.

I went through the manual, first i was eager to find out how that sub sounds thats why i didnt read it,:D. yeah i call svs for eric and he was kinda helpful, i was advice to plug one of the port to turn it at 20 hertz which i did but i didnt really compare it to stock so dont really know if there any difference.

I got a question that i cant get out of the manual, maybe you guys can help me on this one.

I set it on 20 hertz and set the gain about little over half. Is loud but i like it, When i watch a scence with ex...earth quake, i actually did fell it, so is that too loud?
what i want to ask is can this sub handle loudness like that or should i turn it down a bit?

I love this sub, what about you?

Oh yeah btw, this fricken thing is huge, maybe half of my couch wow.
I know that people said is big but that thing looks like a speaker they use at concerts, yeah does it really need to big THAT BIG?

As long as you are not bottoming out the sub it will be fine. A sub should be an extension to your main speakers and not stand out. You should get a SPL and level it out at very least. When I play music you cant really tell my sub is on; it is just well blended. Once I turn it off; then I can tell that it was on (if that makes sense) For movies I turn the sub up by 3db just to give that extra punch.

That is one big sub but it is awesome!
